Safer Spaces at Cropredy

Fairport’s Cropredy Convention, along with over 70 other members of the AIF (Association of Independent Festivals), have signed up to the Safer Spaces Charter.

We have a zero-tolerance policy towards any kind of sexual assault or harassment at our festival.

We define sexual assault as “Any unwanted sexual act or activity”. There are many different kinds of sexual violence including but not restricted to rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment.

Such actions and behaviour will not be tolerated at our event and suspects of such offences will be pursued and may be ejected from the festival. We will work with the police to support investigations and charging decisions.

We will have the following support services available onsite:

Staffed Campsite Control Cabins, Overnight Policing by Thames Valley Police. Our Medical Centre in the Main Arena is open 24 hours, as is the one on Field 7a and there is an Emergency Number on your wristband. This Emergency Line is manned 24 hours a day.

If something happens to you, please report it to the nearest steward or security guard or you can call the Emergency Number on your wristband. If you don’t feel comfortable reporting onsite that is completely fine, you can contact us via this website to report when you get home.

We take all reports incredibly seriously and will take a victim led approach to all forms of sexual assault.

RECOMMENDED DROP-OFF / COLLECTION POINTS

In keeping with our ‘Safer Spaces’ policy, these are the recommended Drop-Off Points. Banbury Taxi firms will be advised accordingly.

Arena, Field 1, 2, 5 & 6 (plus Glamping) – MAIN GATE ON WILLIAMSCOT RD.

Field 4 – CAR PARK AT CROPREDY SPORTS & SOCIAL CLUB ON WILLIAMSCOT RD

Fields 7a – c – GATE 7 BY THE CATTLE GRID AT THE END OF  SCHOOL LANE

After the entertainment finishes each evening there is a road closure on Williamscot Rd to allow attendees to get back to their cars/campsites safely. During this time (approx 45 mins from the end of the entertainment), the collection point for Taxis should be OUTSIDE THE BRASENOSE ARMS in Cropredy village.

STAGECOACH run a Bus Service to and from the Banbury Bus and Train Stations to the festival all day. The last bus leaves from THE BRASENOSE ARMS at 00.30 on each night. The Bus Timetable will be available on the website before the festival, in the festival programme and on all our information boards.

Here is a link to a festival site map.

Again, if you feel endangered in any way at all, please contact Festival Control on the number embroidered on your wristband.
