Stevie Horton: 18 Feb 1952 - 11 Nov 2024

It is with deepest sorrow that Fairport Convention and the Cropredy festival team announces the death of Stevie Horton.

Stevie had been closely associated with Fairport and its annual festival for the past 20-odd years starting with the 2004 launch of ‘Over The Next Hill’. She went on to work on many more record launches, twenty Cropredies, two commemorative hour-long TV features and the band’s general publicity efforts.

Apart from her Fairport work, Stevie built up a varied clientele with, latterly, a distinct Prog Rock bias. Friendly and gracious, she was highly regarded in the music PR business.

All of us at Fairport and Cropredy will remember Stevie with love. She leaves a husband Bob, two sons Mark and David and a daughter Karen.

Simon Nicol writes: “Stevie’s sudden, unexpected death leaves everyone in the Fairport family reeling and shocked. Things will never be the same without her, especially in her role keeping the PR mills turning and the media in order backstage at Cropredy. RIP old friend, and thank you so much.”

The funeral will be for family and close friends.
