Hello Fairporters
We’re almost there. Fairport are rehearsing at the Warm Up shows in Banbury and Team Cropredy are busy on site building a festival. Ian and the Prism crew are working through the heat to get the stage ready for load in. And it is hot – the ground may be hard and parched but we’re currently bang on track for a terrific festival.
Some of you won’t have been to Cropredy before so here’s a few tips and pointers before you arrive. Our FAQs page is the best place to go if you have any queries.
Firstly, we are COMPLETELY sold out (thank you!) and our campsites are full, so if you don’t have a ticket or camping sticker, please don’t make a wasted journey. There won’t be any tickets or camping stickers on sale. Our friends at the Box Office, AXS will be on site at the wristband exchanges to assist with any ticketing enquiries. If you do have any ticketing queries, their number is – 03445 811396.
All our campsites (except Glamping) open at 07.00 on Thursday morning. Please do not arrive earlier as you wil be moved on. Williamscot Rd will once again be a one-way road on Thursday morning and there are many Williamscot Residents who need to get to work. Please help them by not arriving before 07.00.
Please remember that those of you heading to Fields 7a and 7b that School Lane is one-way until 14.00 on Thursday so it would be best if you brought what you need for your first day with you.
The Car Parks on Willamscot Rd and Field 7c open at 09.00. The wristband exchanges on Field 2, Main Gate and Gate B open at 09.30. The Arena Gates open at 14.00 and the music starts at 16.00.
Please note – The A422 between Brackley and Banbury is closed at Farthinghoe. Diversions are in operation.
It looks like it’s going to be hot so please don’t forget your essential sun block. As always, Dr Matt and the amazing Events Medical team are on site at the top of the Arena.
As mentioned the ground is very hard and parched – bring a tent peg mallet!Much of the surrounding farmland still has crops or stubble and is definitely at risk of catching fire. At Cropredy we do not allow any ember producing BBQs whatsoever – and no campfires or Chinese Lanterns please. If you smoke, please take extra care when extinguishing your cigarettes. Any gas camping stoves must be raised off the ground and never use a stove in your tent please. You’ll have seen the news regarding the wildfires across Europe and that is a headline we’d rather avoid. Cannon Safety will be on site for your protection and will be offering advice where required.
The weather forecast is currently for yet another heatwave. Our four-legged friends don’t like this so if there is any way you can leave your dogs at home with friends, please do so. We do have dog bowls and canine paddling pools by the taps in the arena but please carry your pets over the alloy trackway. This gets extremely hot and can burn unprotected paws. Please keep both yourselves and your dogs hydrated. We have some more advice on the website here.
So here we are. Ahead lies a weekend of great music, catching up with old friends and making some new ones along the way. As usual, Hook Norton will be keeping the bar stocked, the traders will be satisfying your every desire and on the stage, artists from around the world are lining up to entertain you.
