Cropredy 'Warm-up' gigs questions
⌄
What are the Warm-ups?
Traditionally, Fairport Convention do two local concerts prior to the festival itself to go through the set and rehearse their legendary guests. It is a great opportunity to have a sneak preview of who will be performing with them on the Saturday night!
Our traditional Cropredy Warm-up shows will be at The Mill Arts Centre in Banbury.
Camping Sticker Questions
⌄
Only those folk with festival tickets will be allowed to camp. If you don’t have a festival ticket, please do not purchase a Camping Sticker. Without a valid ticket or wristband you will not be allowed onto the campsites.
https://www.axs.com/uk/events/776126/fairportys-cropredy-convention-tickets
REMEMBER – WE CHARGE CAMPING PER VEHICLE, NOT PER PERSON!
You charge one £60 camping sticker per vehicle, What do you class as a vehicle?
We mean a car, a jeep, a light van, an MPV, Motorhome or a similar conveyance. The price per vehicle includes the occupants of the vehicle (providing each one has a concert ticket for the day they arrive to camp). The number of occupants might be one chap in a Mini or a family in an MPV. Four is the average occupancy although we’re unlikely to quibble over up to six, especially if some of them are children. For more than six occupants, please purchase two stickers. Commonsense, and the comfort and safety of others, are the primary considerations.
We count a car and caravan as ONE vehicle.
There is NO extra charge for caravans or motor homes.
*AND REMEMBER, BACKPACKERS AND BIKERS DON’T NEED CAMPING STICKERS – THEY CAMP FOR FREE!!
Does the camping charge include tents?
Yes. A ‘tent’ can be anything from a tiny one-person ‘pod’ to a family tent job. Subject to safety considerations and the campsite marshalls’ decision, you may be able put more than one tent on your pitch, for example, a mid-size one for mum and dad plus a small one for the kids. But a marquee or a pair of giant canvas palaces on one pitch wouldn’t be allowed by the marshalls. You would need to purchase two Camping Stickers. Again, use commonsense and consider the safety and comfort of others.
Can I camp on Wednesday Night?
Only on the Broad Meadow Glamping Field, which opens at noon on 12 August. All other Campsites open for business at 07.00 on Thursday 13 August 2026.
When do I have to leave the campsites?
All campsites must be cleared by 14.00 on the Sunday afternoon as we have to de-rig the festival and are under construction site rules. Those wishing to stay longer must move to one of the local campsites such as Barnstones or Anita’s.
Caravan/Campervan questions
⌄
Is a caravan a vehicle?
As far as camping goes, a caravan towed by a vehicle will be treated as a tent; you just pay for the vehicle and its occupants with no extra charge for the trailer. A camper van or mobile home and its occupants pay the same as any other vehicle (we reserve specific areas for them – see below).
Where can I camp my caravan/campervan?
Caravans and small Campervans can camp on all fields provided they can fit easily through the entrance (our friendly stewards will advise you) apart from Fields 4 & 5, the entrances for which are too narrow for a towed caravan. Although we welcome caravans and campervans on to Field 6, this is now reserved for disabled users.
Should the ground on certain campsites become too wet for Caravans you will be directed to Fields 7a-7c.
Large Campervans, Caravans or Mobile homes should head for Fields 7c.
(Note: there are many factors affecting what goes where: these include operational changes in field usage, health and safety law, local authority regulations, the requirements of our safety officer and fire officer, the comfort and convenience of fellow campers, access for emergency vehicles, the preservation of fire lanes, and the condition of the land itself – for example, if the ground is waterlogged).
There are water taps and Elsan Waste tanks in all campsites.
WE DO NOT HAVE ELECTRIC HOOK-UPS ON THE CAMPSITES – apart from the Glamping Field on request.

What facilities do you provide for those with disabilities?
⌄
We provide a special viewing platform at Fairport’s Cropredy Convention for festival-goers who are chair-bound or otherwise disabled. The platform has a ramp for wheelchairs and is situated beside the sound tower with a commanding view of the stage. The platform is big enough to hold up to a 18 chair-users (allowing for one carer per person) or 15 self-powered mobility scooters. When the platform is full, carers must stand/sit off the riser to accommodate more wheelchairs.
There is an adjacent toilet with facilities for people with disabilities.
Staff stewarding the platform are in radio contact with site control so festival-goers with disabilities will be able to easily find out if there’s space on the platform without having to go right down the field.
Event Mobility (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) will be providing electric mobility scooters and manual wheelchairs at this event for the use of mobility impaired, disabled and elderly visitors.
To reserve an electric mobility scooter or manual wheelchair please book online at www.eventmobility.org.uk/ book-your-scooter.
Online bookings must be made 2 days before the event.
Bookings cannot be taken during the event. If there is spare equipment available at the event it is offered on a first come, first served basis only.
Event Mobility are at a number of other events. For further information please visit their website www.eventmobility.org.uk.
Again, as in previous years we’ll be providing a camping area (Field 6) specifically for festival-goers with disabilities. Please get in touch via the CONTACT button at the top of the page for more information. At the top of the field next to Event Mobility, are disabled toilet blocks and a disabled showers. There are also disabled loos at the bottom of Field 6 (by Gate C) and at the entrance to Field 7a.
In the arena itself are a further 4 disabled loos. Two by the polyjohns at the top, one by the polyjohns by Jonah’s Oak, one in the compound at the top of the arena by St John’s Ambulance and as mentioned earlier, one by the disabled viewing platform.
Disabled folk can find out more about how we can help by using the CONTACT button at the top of the page.
Blue badged Day Visitors who are not camping should report to the Main Gate and follow instructions of the stewards.
Do you issue Complimentary Carer Tickets?
⌄
All applications for complimentary Carers Tickets must be received before the 31st May 2026.
For your carer to qualify for a complimentary Carers Ticket, you must first purchase your own ticket. You must also be disabled and receive Standard or Enhanced Daily Living components of the Personal Independence Payment (formerly DLA) which means you require full time assistance.
You will then need to provide a copy of a recent letter (2026/2027) from the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) stating that you are entitled to this component of the PIP in order to claim a free ticket for your carer. If you do not have a recent letter, please contact the DWP and ask them to send you one.
If you are unable to provide a letter from the DWP as requested above, you will not be entitled to a free ticket for your carer.
Once you have the letter, please post it, along with a copy of your own ticket receipt (or your ticket numbers) and Camping sticker (if camping) to the address below. We will then send you a complimentary Carers Ticket.
Once your request for a carer ticket has been processed, your application and all documents will be shredded.

How do I get to Cropredy?
⌄
You will find Cropredy on any road atlas or you can check out the maps on this website.
If you’re coming to Fairport’s Cropredy Convention this year, why not leave the car at home? Train travel is less stressful and far kinder to the environment. What’s more, if you don’t bring a vehicle you get free camping. Banbury station is served by frequent Chiltern Railways trains from London Marylebone station and Birmingham Moor Street station. You can find train times and fares on the Chiltern Railways website or by phoning 03456 005 165
Banbury station is also served by Crosscountry services from many parts of the UK. For these rail services visit the National rail enquiries website or ask at your local railway station. When you arrive at Banbury, there is a frequent bus service to Cropredy (and buses back into Banbury after the concerts). For the Bus Timetable, please click here.
Travelling by road: Travel to Banbury on the M40 motorway and leave at Junction 11 which is signposted for Banbury (see this map). At the top of the slip road is a roundabout; from there please follow the temporary signs to the festival.
If you are not camping on the site, there is a car park on the north side of the Williamscot Road (see site map) and also another on Field 7c. Festival stewards will direct you.
Stagecoach are also running a special Bus Service between Banbury and Cropredy.

When does the music start?
⌄
The field opens at 14.00 and the music starts at 16.00 on Thursday until 23.00.
On Friday and Saturday the field opens at 11.00 and the music is from Noon to Midnight.
What if I don't want to camp at the festival?
⌄
There are other campsites and a range of hotels and B&Bs in the area. We simply don’t have space to list them all nor can we answer individual questions about places to stay. However, you can gets lots of information about accommodation and about the local area from the official North Oxfordshire tourism website.
You can also try these local tourist information offices:
Banbury: 01295 753752
Bicester: 01869 369055
If you want to camp in the area before our campsites open on Thursday morning, you can find a list of Oxfordshire sites on the UK Camp Sites website which has a search facility.
When can I arrive?
⌄
Our campsites are open to the public from 7am on Thursday 13 August. Please don’t arrive any earlier than that as the gates will be locked and we don’t want to upset the locals (or the Police!) by blocking the roads. Anyone parking up on the Williamscot Rd before the gates open will receive a parking ticket from the PCSOs who will be patrolling which will result in a fine. We have to respect the local population who need to get to work.
The campsites are also open from 9am on Friday and Saturday.
Narrowboat/Canal/Marina questions
⌄
Do I have to pay for Cropredy camping if I arrive on a narrowboat?
No, not if your boat remains in the canal. The Oxford Canal is outside the area covered by the premises licence.
Tell me about the new Cropredy Marina.
In 2014, the new 249 berth Cropredy Marina opened for business. It is just a short walk from the festival site and you can find out more from their website here.
Where can I find out more about visiting Cropredy by canal?
Canal & River Trust, the authority that runs the canal system, has a very informative website covering the leisure and boating uses of inland waterways here.
Where can I get medical help if I need it?
⌄
Our First Aid team operate a medical centre at the top of the arena field and they are open for business from the time you arrive on Thursday until your departure on Sunday.
In an emergency, call the number on your wristband and Festival Control will someone to you.
There is a doctor’s surgery in Cropredy village and The Horton A&E hospital in Banbury.
Can I bring a flag?
⌄
Flags are welcome during the quiet periods and add a touch of colour to the arena. However, they must be taken down once the field is getting full in the late afternoon/early evening. They really do obstruct the view for people further up the field so we need your cooperation and consideration. Many festivals now ban flag poles altogether. We don’t want to do that. We’d rather rely on your good judgement.
Please be very careful when positioning flags on the campsites. There are overhead power cables and we don’t want any accidents. Dismantle the poles before transporting your flags.
Can I bring a fold-up chair/micro tent?
⌄
Yes indeed. But you must set up well back from the stage where people may want to stand and dance. We do mark an arced line and steward it. All chairs must remain behind this line. And please remember, once set up, it does not mean that you have priority of the view over people standing. We have had trouble in the past from seated persons getting stroppy because someone has stood up to dance in front of them. This is a music festival in a field. If people want to stand and dance, they can.
It would be best to set your chair up further up the field for an uninterrupted and unrestricted view.
Micro tents are permitted but they must be set up behind the walkway line up-field of the sound tower. Nothing bigger than a micro tent is permitted – no huge umbrellas, gazebos or tents.
Can I bring a BBQ?
⌄
We do permit gas BBQs but not the solid fuel ones with embers which may blow onto the grass, or worse still, a tent. This applies especially to the disposable variety.
NEVER take a solid fuel barbecue inside a tent, caravan or awning. Even if it seems to have gone out, the barbecue can produce lethal carbon monoxide gas – you can’t see it, smell it or taste it. Every year, people in tents and caravans are killed by carbon monoxide poisoning.
Please read this important safety advice.
We do allow gas-fuelled barbecues but please take steps to protect the grass beneath them. Even gas barbecues (and gas cookers too) can produce carbon monoxide so please cook outside your tent.
Can I bring a dog?
⌄
You may bring your dog but all our canine friends must be kept on a leash at all times. Owners MUST clean up after their dogs. Everyone entering the arena or campsite with a dog will be asked to produce ‘poop’ bags. If you have run out, find your nearest Campsite Control. They will have an emergency supply there.
Well behaved dogs are permitted in the Glamping Tents but must be kept on the leash and never left unattended.
